Master Cat Artemis

Cat Artemis, as he is lovingly called, serves as the secretary for our chapter. He was Mister Sister Leather 2017 for the San Antonio Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Alamo of the Abbey. In 2018 he held the title of Miss Tuff Drag Diva with his drag persona of Miss Martha Svinyard. 

Cat originally started in the community via the Bexar Men Nudist Group and served in several positions on the board of directors there. He also served as Secretary, President, Member-At-(Extra) Large, and his favorite position "Vice" President.

During this time that he was also involved in the local group sex scene that specifically catered to bisexual men who had physical and emotional needs not fulfilled through a traditional "straight" marriage.

Cat also was on the forefront of the battle to bring an end to the Defense of Marriage Act. Both he and his husband, Stuart, fought to have that law repealed so that they and all other LGBTQ couples could live together happily and legally. As a result, Stuart was able to immigrate to the U.S. from England and they were wed. They also stayed on the forefront by telling their story when the time came for the Supreme Court to make same-gender marriage legal in all states.

In accordance with the traditional hanky code: Cat flags four different handkerchiefs in his left pocket. 

• Pink - dildo fxxxer. In this regard, Cat conducts discussions about the proper use of sex toys, to include care, cleaning, and maintenance. Many of his discussions also deal with the community's tenants of safe, sane, and consensual, particularly when dealing with sex toys.  
• Navy blue - anal top. While Cat is sexually a versatile, in practice he tends to top.  
• Red - fisting top. His hands are on the larger size, so bottoms beware!  
• Orange - "ready for anything." however, that DOESN'T mean "anyone" or "anyplace".  

Cat is predominantly a dominant for BDSM activities while remaining sexually versatile. Known for his signature "feline" attitude, it helps to entice him if you're interested in submitting to him. He won't pass up a playtime if he is interested. As a cat in a community of pups, he has brought the awareness of other animal personas to the forefront of the pup community striving to eliminate the stigma that there are "only handlers or pups".

Cat officially discovered the Leather and BDSM communities at the first Alamo City Leather and Fetish Ball in 2013. He enjoyed the event so much that he wanted to contribute to the community as a whole. The leather and BDSM community became a natural transition in his self-discovery. His most vivid memory was telling a dear friend, "This has been an eye-opening and life-changing experience for me." That friend is the person who gave Cat his name and is the only person that cat refers to as "Daddy". Cat was also influenced by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence when they bestowed on him "one perpetual indulgence". His message to the community is in line with their message to eliminate guilt, stigma, and self-denial of who someone truly is. His favorite quote is: "You be you". This became the inspiration for his becoming Mister Sister Leather, winning that title in 2017.

Cat is one of the original members of the now-dissolved San Antonio Gear Enthusiasts (SAGE) inducted in their September 2013 meeting. He originally functioned as historian but was soon elected through a special election to the board and took the mantle of Secretary. When SAGE was disbanded, his meeting minutes and other documents were enthusiastically received by the Leather Archives. In the process of dissolving the group, Cat made sure that the archives had suitable relics for the group's brief history. 

One of the pivotal people of the overall LGBTQ community, he continues to offer his home and hearth to the community. An original kitchen witch, you can often find him preparing different meals for his guests, showcasing his and Stuart's talent for hospitality. 

On 14 August 2021, Cat was made a Master by receiving a Master's Muir Cap from the San Antonio leather community thereby officially becoming Master Cat (in the hat) Artemis. 

 In 2022 Master Cat won the title of Mr. Alamo City Leather.
